olympic cyclist sir chris hoy on coaching

http://him.uk.msn.com/health-and-fitness/articles.aspx?cp-documentid=161201846

Short and simple interview about coaching sports. Chris Hoy won three gold medals at the Beijing Olympics. He talks about motivation, setting goals and emulating the best. It’s really an elite athlete’s view of coaching rather than an experienced coach’s. Interesting anyway. Especially if you teach martial arts. Or cycling.

Thanks Carina. Yes psychology is important. And knowing what individual students need. And when.

  2. Again an interesting article, thanks, yeah a coach must be also a good psychologist, every person is different and reacts different. That is what I admire of our sensei, he knows how to treat everyone, I think he would make a great coach too, of course a coach also must know a lot of the sport he is coaching and feeding and remain always calm and purposeful.
About your sizes in keikogis, could it be that you grow in one budo and shrink with the other, hahaha
